Today, The Workshop 1924 is a modern, multi-division workshop serving the Franklin region and beyond.

Our History

Originally established as the Franklin Electric Power Board workshop, and later Counties Power, The Workshop 1924 has played a key role in supporting infrastructure and transport in the region for over 100 years.

In 2017, The Workshop 1924 became an independent business, evolving into a specialist heavy diesel and engineering workshop.

The Workshop 1924 Team

At The Workshop 1924, our strength comes from our people. Based in Pukekohe, our team is made up of experienced, reliable professionals who keep our workshop running efficiently and our customers moving.

The workshop is led by Callum Deadman, a Pukekohe local who began his diesel mechanic apprenticeship in 2013 at the workshop under Counties Power (now Counties Energy). After spending 2017 gaining experience in the Western Australian mining industry, Callum returned in 2018 and has been managing the workshop since 2023.

We have 11 fully qualified diesel mechanics and engineers, each highly skilled in their field and experienced across a wide range of heavy diesel, transport, and industrial equipment.
