Precision Water Jet Profile Cutting

Waterjet cutting uses high-pressure water mixed with abrasive material to cut through metal, plastic, stone, and more with high precision and no heat damage.

Compared to other cutting methods, waterjet cutting offers several clear advantages:

  • No heat-affected zone (no warping or material stress)
  • Clean edges with minimal burr
  • High precision cutting (tight tolerances)
  • Handles thick and delicate materials
  • Efficient material use = less waste

A waterjet can cut steel, aluminium, plastics, carbon fibre, rubber, ceramics, stone, and more.

We can cut materials up to several inches thick depending on the material type.

A powerful pump raises water pressure to 50,000–90,000 psi. This pressurised water is forced through a tiny jewel orifice, creating a supersonic stream capable of precision profile cutting.

At The Cutting Lab, a division of The Workshop 1924, we deliver precision waterjet profile cutting in Auckland. Based in Pukekohe, we use an advanced waterjet machine to cut metal, plastic, composites, stone, and more. As a result, you get clean, accurate cuts with no heat damage, no distortion, and minimal finishing required.

Waterjet cutting can achieve very tight tolerances, making it ideal for precision components and fabrication work.

If you don’t have a file, we can create one from your measurements, drawings, or idea.

ECU Remapping & Emission System Solutions

Modern vehicles are controlled by an Engine Control Unit (ECU) programmed with conservative factory settings to suit global conditions. ECU remapping involves professionally modifying this software to optimise performance for New Zealand conditions, fuel quality, and your specific use case.

Most jobs can be completed the same day. If you’re sending your ECU to us, turnaround is usually around 3 working days.

ECU remapping can increase power by 20–35% and improve fuel efficiency, depending on the vehicle. It also enhances towing performance and drivability.

No. Poor-quality remaps done by someone that is not a professional can cause damage to the ECU. Reach out to an experienced technician for assistance.

Pricing typically ranges from $900 to $3,500 + GST depending on vehicle type and modifications.

We complete ECU remaps for trucks, tractors, agricultural machinery (combine harvesters), utes and cars.

No, when done professionally. Poor-quality remaps can cause damage, but our experienced technicians ensure safe and reliable performance improvements.

At The Performance Shop, a division of The Workshop 1924, we specialise in custom diesel tuning for trucks, tractors, utes, and agricultural machinery in Auckland. Unlock more power, torque, and fuel efficiency from your vehicle with professional ECU remapping and emission system solutions.
